Commercial Built Up Roof (BUR) Installation

Clow Roofing & Siding offers expert workmanship in the installation of built up roofs (BUR), which have a proven history of long-lasting performance and quality. The ability of BUR systems to resist water damage, heat loss, and weather extremes, makes them a valued investment - especially in the Pacific Northwest with hot dry summers and high rainfall and ice in the winter.

To ensure your investment, Clow only works with the highest-grade roofing materials from manufacturers whose quality products have withstood the test of time. Your Clow installed built up roofing system will also be backed by a ten-year warranty, so you can feel secure in your decision to choose Clow for all your roofing requirements.

Your Clow BUR installation may be applied through various application techniques, including heat or cold process, and torchdown systems. Clow is also certified in the application of self-adhered BUR systems, which eliminates smell, noise and equipment, problems typically associated with roof installation processes.

BUR systems are typically found on flat or nearly flat roofed buildings, and consist of several layers of overlapping roofing felts that are applied with hot or cold adhesives. BUR felts can be made of organic, fiberglass or polyester composition. The hot adhesives will be one of three main types: asphalt, modified asphalt or coal tar pitch. The cold adhesives are either asphalt or coal tar pitch based. A layer of gravel is typically the final step, which protects the roof from ultraviolet degradation and provides weather resistance.
